Neumeister Claims $1,000 Bone Stock Victory

Kyle Neumeister (#9) of Mitchell of cruised to a convincing win in the $1,000-to-win Bone Stock season opener over Kenny McNicol Junior (#17H) of Exeter.  Neumeister took the lead early in the race and held on for the victory in the caution-free event.  McNicol Junior at one point had been closing the gap but late in the race noted he was down a cylinder eliminating the possibility of catching Neumeister.

Other winners on the night included Gord Bennett (#70) of Grand Bend in the Pro Stocks, Kara Martin (#53) of Mt. Brydges in the Junior Late Models, Collin Klumper (#11) of Mitchell, and Austen MacLennan (#77) of Vanastra who won in both the Rookie Trucks and 9HP Mini Sprints.  King of the Hill competition was won by a driver in an early 2000s Oldsmobile.

The next racing at Grand Bend Speedway is Jared Doxtator Memorial Night presented by Doxtator Property Management.  The evening features the North Coast Compact Challenge 50-Lap Special (Mini Stock), Great Lakes Legend Series, JLM Future Stars, Mini Trucks, 9hp Mini Sprints, Jr Sprints, and Rookie Trucks.

100-Lap Special & Surprise Legends Series Add-On Coming Saturday

After raining out the season opener, anticipation is high heading into opening night Saturday at Grand Bend Speedway. The track boasts a full racing lineup plus a surprise addition starting at 7:00 pm.

Headlining the event is a 100-lap special for the North Coast Compact Challenge (NCCC Mini Stocks). In addition, the event also features a surprise add-on to the lineup: the Great Lakes Legends Series will be laying down some laps running heat races and a 25-lap main event. Legends Cars are 5/8-scale fiberglass full-fendered versions of the famed NASCAR modifieds of days gone by.

Fans will also catch racing from Grand Bend Speedway’s signature driver development classes: the Junior Late Model future stars, Mini Trucks, 9HP Mini Sprints, Junior Sprints, and Rookie Trucks.

May 21 Season Opener Rains Out

The 2022 Grand Bend Speedway season opener scheduled for Saturday, May 21 has rained out. After reviewing the forecasted weather, track officials determined that cancellation would be in the best interests of fans and drivers as they plan their weekend.

The rainout is resulting in an update to the schedule: the “Infamous 100 Qualifier” (Bone Stock race) that was scheduled to run on Saturday night will now run on Saturday, June 4. All other events are unchanged.

Grand Bend Speedway Aims to Thrill Beachgoers Saturday Nights

A summer of competition kicks off at Grand Bend Speedway this weekend as the track aims to carve a name for itself as a must-attend destination for beachgoers on Saturday nights this year. Opening night this Saturday will feature racing from six different classes of competition including half-size competition as well as full-size race cars with racing getting underway at 7pm.

There have been considerable changes during the off-season at the track which has placed a renewed focus on delivering a strong fan experience.  Spectators will find an improved sound system, relocated food concessions (with a new menu), a new website, and a host of additional improvements as the season goes along.  Play-by-play announcing will be delivered by Chris Soares and John Houghton: a broadcast team known to many race fans after having announced races locally for over a decade.

Drivers will experience new incentives this summer with considerably more prize money being offered at events.  This helps the track not only attract more drivers into competition, but also provides prizing worth battling for on the track.

The speedway is also introducing the “Around the Bend” driving experience.  The attraction runs throughout the summer and gives participants the opportunity to ride along in a full-size race car or, if they are brave enough, take the challenge and get behind the wheel themselves.

Land and Sea Dyno at Grand Bend Speedway

In an effort to address concerns with technical inspections and previous seal identifications on Honda 6.5, 9.0 and 13 horsepower engines competing at Grand Bend Speedway on 2022 and beyond.
We have in our possession a Land and Sea Dynomite engine dyno that will be in our tech building to use at anytime needed.
This engine dyno (feel free to google it) is capable of horsepower reading of the complete engine and all bolted on components with a tolerance of .003 horsepower on it’s computer setup.
We feel this will keep competition fair and reliable plus give winning teams the opportunity to prove themselves to all who may question their speed and skills.
Thank you to Tabitha for supplying such a valuable tool for our technical staff to use.
Grand Bend Speedway ownership continues to do our best to improve our facility and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all who attend.

Honda Engine Technical Update

With the 2022 racing season approaching at Grand Bend Speedway we have monitored recent posts and responses on social media in regards to rules.GBS has come to the conclusion that our 6.5hp, 9hp and 13hp Honda engine classes will be technically inspected (ENGINE RELATED) based on lap times and visual performance. We will be asking for the complete engine with all add-ons in running condition (as raced) to be removed and submitted for post race component and dyno inspection if needed. This is “IF and WHEN” necessary and needed to be enforced. Engine inspection should be treated as a complement to being fast and necessary for equality and fair racing at GBS.Please have the proper tools for removal and be aware of our position with you and your equipment for the proper amount of time for off sight inspection to occur and be released. There is not cost to you if your engine is legal. We appreciated our race team commitment to competing in a fair and equal setting at GBS and look forward to the 2022 season.
