Grand Bend Speedway Updates

SEASON OPENER SATURDAY

The 2026 Grand Bend Speedway racing season kicks off Saturday evening with a full lineup of competition and the introduction of an innovative new all-access-for-all admission program for fans and drivers.  Qualifying races start at 4:30 pm, main events begin at 8:00 pm.  The Go Kart Centre is open from 10 am to 1:00 pm on race day.

Racing on Saturday show cases the new full-size V8 Sprint class that has been spotted practicing at the track.  Four Cylinder Compacts are in competition along with Pro Sprints and Outlaw Micro Sprints.  Pro Four Modifieds were a last-minute but welcome addition to the summer schedule making their return to GBS for the first time since 2024.  Competition for developing drivers is also on the card with the Kid Stocks and Youth Micro Sprints.  Selected divisions, such as the V8 Sprints, are new to the track and in development and are expected to start with a smaller number of competitors.

The track has introduced a new “All-Access for Everyone” entry program aimed at keeping admission to the races affordable and giving better access to the facility to fans, friends, and racing families.  The new pricing structure includes full facility access for everyone: racers, crew, and spectators.  As a result, the facility has a fresh layout in the pits that is expected to allow for more efficient lineups for race divisions and also sees much of the fencing around the facility removed to allow the free-flow of guests throughout the venue.

The racing program is divided up into shorter qualifying races that start at 4:30 pm to set the lineup for the full-length main-event races that begin at 8:00 pm.  Casual fans and beachgoers often enjoy the condensed action of the 8:00 main events while motorsports enthusiasts often arrive earlier to take in the whole program.  A selection of drivers will be on the front stretch of the trace track meetings with fans between these two parts of the program.

On display: Camp Canada RV & Corporate Motorsports will be debuting their new summer pop up location.  Whether you’re looking for a new golf cart, camper trailer, ATV, side-by-side, or simply want to check out what’s new: they’ve got a great lineup on display all summer long.

The Outside Grove diner will be open throughout the event serving up pizza, nachos, ice cream and more throughout the races.

For fans who want to make some laps before the races, the Go Kart Centre will be open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on race day.

About the Track: Grand Bend Speedway is a 1/4 mile paved Tri-Oval race track. Originally built in 1996 for small-scale vehicles it was later expanded into the track of today which can accommodate both half-size development series as well as full-size race cars. The track is located just outside the town of Grand Bend beside the Grand Bend Motorplex facility.

GBS Introduces All-Access for Everyone Entry

Grand Bend Speedway is implementing a new pricing and admission system aimed at keeping admission to the races affordable and giving better access to the facility to fans, friends, and racing families.

The new pricing structure includes full facility access for everyone: racers, crew, and spectators.  The track will no longer have a separate pit entry fee.  Instead, admission and waivers will be completed at the track entrance before entering the Grand Bend Speedway property.  Competitors and fans can stay in their vehicles and track staff will come to them.

Once implemented, the new process allows for the free-flow of fans, drivers, and crew throughout the facility with no need for wrist band checkpoints.  For example, friends and family of drivers will now be able to freely visit the pits before, during, and after the races.  Regular fans will have the opportunity to freely walk the facility to behind the scenes and build further interest in Grand Bend Speedway and its racing program.

ALL ACCESS FOR EVERYONE PRICING:
– up to 5 years: FREE
– 6-12 years: $10
– 13+: $20

The program will be in place starting at the first event: Saturday, June 6.  Preliminary events begin at 5:45 PM with main events getting underway at 8:00 PM.  The racing lineup features V8 Sprint Cars, Pro Sprints, Pro 4 Modifieds, Outlaw Micro Sprints, Four Cylinder Compacts, Youth Micro Sprints, Kid Stocks.

Saturday Night Weekly Racing

Saturday Night Competition Kicks Off in June at GBS

Grand Bend Speedway is revving up for its thirty-first season of competition which kicks off on June 6th.  The 2026 schedule has fourteen events which run every Saturday throughout the summer until the beginning of September.  Local home track classes run weekly with Pro Sprints, Outlaw Micro Sprints, Four Cylinder Compacts, Mini Trucks, Youth Micro Sprints, and Kid Stocks along with Super Late Models and the newly introduced V8 Sprint Cars running every other week.

One of the most notable new programs at the track this season is the V8 Sprint Cars.  These full-sized winged sprint cars were tested at GBS last season with exhibition visits from the Tri-State Sprints throughout the summer.  Those visits provided the proof of concept for the track to commit to running full-size asphalt sprint cars on a bi-weekly basis.  V8 Sprints have a special headliner event on August 1 as part of the Civic Holiday weekend when Michigan’s Tri-State Sprints return to the track.

Fan favourite touring divisions are also back on the schedule.  The Great Lakes Legends Series returns on July 4 with the winged Can-Am Midgets also visiting on the same night.  The Can-Am Midgets also have an additional event on August 8.

The Jared Doxtator Memorial race returns on July 25 and the Brad Clarke Memorial race runs on August 22.  The track will also be hosting other special races on Saturday nights for Father Day Weekend, Canada Day Weekend, Kids Night, Sponsors Night and others.

The track will again be running with an 8:00 pm start time for main events (feature races) with qualifyer events getting underway at 5:45 pm.  The timing helps make visiting the track easier for beach goers who can have a clearer picture of when the most exciting racing is set to begin and also helps events finish in a timely manner for visitors and racers alike.

As well as Saturday night racing,  Public Go Karting is also set to reopen in the spring, some time mid April – weather pending.

2025 Season Wraps! Corn Cob Classic Cancelled

Grand Bend Speedway is choosing to not run the Corn Cob Classic event that was set to run in October of this year.

While there was good interest from a variety of drivers and divisions in participating in the one-mile hybrid oval event, at the moment interest is not strong enough to support an event on a track that size.

Instead, Grand Bend Speedway is focusing energy towards preparing for the 2026 racing season with schedule to be announced in the near future.

Special thanks to the teams that expressed such strong interest and support in the Corn Cob Classic!

First Champions of 2025 Crowned: Bone Stocks End in Tie, Curtis Wins in Late Model

The Doxtator Property Maintenance Bone Stock championship has ended in an unprecedented tie. The championship will be jointly shared between Lucas Chapman (#78) and Justin Collver (#50) based on an agreement between the two teams and approval from the speedway. At the conclusion of the feature race the two drivers were tied in points. While a tie-breaking mechanism exists within the Grand Bend Speedway rulebook, a spirit of sportsmanship prevailed leading the drivers to request the procedure not be invoked, which was approved by track management, which resulted in the final tie.

Jeramy Curtis (#77) of Grand Bend finished in top spot in the Huron Taxi Service Late Models. A win earlier in the season and consistent performance throughout the season put Curtis in the position to take the victory in the track championship for the Late Model division.

The next set of Champions will be crowned this coming Saturday, September 20 with the Mini Trucks, 9HP Sprints, and Junior Sprints, and Ontario Pro Sprints.  The Go Kart program will also be wrapping up its season of competition.  Main events begin at 7:00 pm, preliminaries start at 4:00 pm.
