2025 Season Wraps! Corn Cob Classic Cancelled

Grand Bend Speedway is choosing to not run the Corn Cob Classic event that was set to run in October of this year.

While there was good interest from a variety of drivers and divisions in participating in the one-mile hybrid oval event, at the moment interest is not strong enough to support an event on a track that size.

Instead, Grand Bend Speedway is focusing energy towards preparing for the 2026 racing season with schedule to be announced in the near future.

Special thanks to the teams that expressed such strong interest and support in the Corn Cob Classic!

First Champions of 2025 Crowned: Bone Stocks End in Tie, Curtis Wins in Late Model

The Doxtator Property Maintenance Bone Stock championship has ended in an unprecedented tie. The championship will be jointly shared between Lucas Chapman (#78) and Justin Collver (#50) based on an agreement between the two teams and approval from the speedway. At the conclusion of the feature race the two drivers were tied in points. While a tie-breaking mechanism exists within the Grand Bend Speedway rulebook, a spirit of sportsmanship prevailed leading the drivers to request the procedure not be invoked, which was approved by track management, which resulted in the final tie.

Jeramy Curtis (#77) of Grand Bend finished in top spot in the Huron Taxi Service Late Models. A win earlier in the season and consistent performance throughout the season put Curtis in the position to take the victory in the track championship for the Late Model division.

The next set of Champions will be crowned this coming Saturday, September 20 with the Mini Trucks, 9HP Sprints, and Junior Sprints, and Ontario Pro Sprints.  The Go Kart program will also be wrapping up its season of competition.  Main events begin at 7:00 pm, preliminaries start at 4:00 pm.

The Cobra Tire Cup heats up this Sunday at 1:00 pm sponsored by Action Trailers featuring racing from the Huron Taxi Service Late Models, Doxtator Property Maintenance Bone Stocks, Grand Bend Home Hardware 9HP Sprints, Robson Scrap Metal Mini Trucks, and Pinedale Motor Inn Junior Sprints.  The Hot Rod and Super Stock/Sportsman divisions the track has been working to develop this season will also be on hand running their Championship event for the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series.

Sunday’s event is the Brad Clarke Memorial held in memory of the former track promoter of Grand Bend Speedway and builder of countless vehicles in the development series.  Clarke passed away in January 2022.  Since 1997 Clarke dedicated himself to the promotion of racing programs for young people in the region by designing, building, and repairing the 1/2-scale racing vehicles. He became promoter of the Junior Canadian Auto Racing (JCAR) series and later became track promoter at Grand Bend Speedway.

The Outside Groove Diner will be open throughout the event with great food and a great view of the pits.  The full event itinerary is available here.
