June 20th Season Opener

Due to current provincial lockdown and Government orders, we have moved our 2021 Season Opener to Sunday June 20th at 2PM. This allows us to commence our racing for this year but unfortunately without spectators (you can watch all 2021 races live on CTRE.TV). Stay safe and get your race cars ready!!!

2021 proposed Racing schedule updated (upon Government approvals)

Grand Bend Speedway along with our fellow Ontarians are currently in a Provincial “stay at home order” with all “non-essential” businesses being closed or affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic until May 20th at this time.

We would like to bring all of our patrons up to speed on current track operations and closures.

There will be no practice or on-track activities available until at least May 20th. The speedway will be doing online registrations and day to day administration. We will be available for phone calls from our teams, staff and any of our supporters. Racing is scheduled to continue on Sunday May 23rd at 2 pm if current restrictions are removed by the Government. We will monitor any restrictions and commence the 2021 Racing Season on the first Sunday in which restrictions are lifted and safe return and competition is allowed. We have until June 20th to still qualify for the NASCAR Points and complete 14 events, let’s hope this doesn’t last until then.

Practice will commence as soon as restrictions are lifted on a daily basis by appointment or by a scheduled Thursday open practice day for multiple competitors again once restrictions are lifted.

We are still working on some great things for the speedway and will keep everyone informed as they get confirmed or approved.

Please keep safe during these unprecedented times and we will see you at the Bend ASAP.

2021 Renovations and Upgrades are underway at Grand Bend Speedway

We are currently renovating the “Jared Doxtator Memorial Tower” to be reused as our VIP Skybox and Private Patio for our Sponsors and special guests. This will enhance the Speedway’s ability to showcase our amazing facility and on-track talent. Information about Sponsorship and renting the Tower can be found in the “Sponsor” section of this website.
Since we moved the “front stretch” to the old “back stretch” of the track, we will be adding a new building for scoring and announcing on the hill behind the Flag Stand.
Our New Front Stretch grassy hill is over 400 feet long and can sit thousands of people. Fans can either watch the races from the grandstands or spread out and relax on their own lawn chair or blanket!

We have also upgraded our concessions with a food trailer and snack booth. We will be serving a variety of quality hot food and delicious treats and snacks! New Men’s and Women’s washrooms have been added to our “Midway” area. All buildings will soon be painted orange and white and hooked up ASAP. Another part of the infrastructure improvement for the future of the speedway.

Grand Bend Speedway will be installing Westhold Transponder Scoring System

2021 will see it’s first track improvement of the season at Grand Bend Speedway with the installation of the Westhold Transponder Scoring System.

This will bring our track up to high standards and vastly improve the on track competition in scoring and timing for our competitors and fans. This new venture into automated scoring and points keeping has been used at most every other track and now we will be included in the improvement for quality electronic products available to motorsports facilities.

For any information or to purchase a transponder please contact Tabitha at the Speedway.

2021 Schedule change, 2021 class Payouts and 2021 NASCAR Points Funds updated

March 6th 2021

As of today we have altered the start of the 2021 racing season due to poor unforeseen winter weather and the current provincial lockdown outlook.

The April17th Endurance race has been cancelled along with 2 additional weeks of Home Track weekly racing so the track staff can upgrade the speedway infrastructure and wait out the covid restrictions for the safety of everyone involved. May 9th will now be our 2021 GBS Season Opener as listed on the schedule.

We have also removed the Pro Four Modified class due to lack of interest and replaced the dates with the Thunder Trucks unifying the rules with Full Throttle Motor Speedway for 2021.

We have posted the 2021 class payouts which we feel is an olive branch to the current Covid-19 conditions in the province with lack of spectators along with our economical $20 “all access” entry fees and waved (free) annual home track memberships keeping the cost under control as much as possible for our competitors and teams.

Throughout 2021 our four NASCAR Home Track Classes will be competing for Funds and Awards on many levels provided by NASCAR and all their partners in the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series, the complete payout structure is posted in out rules, payouts and Points funds section of the website.

2021 Racing season at Grand Bend Speedway is now NASCAR Sanctioned

With the upcoming 2021 race season approaching, The Speedway has made arrangements to become a NASCAR Sanctioned Advance Auto Parts Weekly Home Track for our top 4 Divisions, Pro Late Model, Sportsman, Four Stock and Mini Truck.

There will be 2 separate Championships to compete for at GBS with each Home Track class:

(1) Points Championship – the best 14 race events by one driver will be crowned 2021 GBS Points Champion and will also include NASCAR Points Funds

(2) Track Championship – Accumulation of all points at all events going to the registered car with any driver.

(Rotating Classes) All Points tallied will define the 2021 Champion.

*Note- Points Championships are defined in the “General Rules” of the Speedway
