Grand Bend Speedway Updates

Schedule Update: Corn Cob Classic Moves to October

Grand Bend Speedway is moving its originally scheduled Corn Cob Classic events that were originally set for the weekend of September 19-21 to a new date: October 18 and 19.  Grand Bend Speedway will still be running on Saturday, September 20 which will now be the Championship Night for the local divisions NASCAR-sanctioned classes.

The move comes out of respect for Sunset Speedway, located near Barrie, Ontario, which will be running their final events under that track’s current ownership.  Those “Last Dance” races are set to run on the originally scheduled weekend of September 19-21 of the Corn Cob Classic.

The Corn Cob Classic aims to be a provincial destination event for the racing community attracting a variety of divisions for competition.  Running on a 1-Mile “Hybrid Oval” super speedway, assembled making use of road course elements of the Grand Bend Motorplex property that Grand Bend Speedway is connected to, this all-new event promises to be like nothing fans and drivers have experienced before.

Currently scheduled classes include Late Models, Bone Stocks, Super Stocks, and Hot Rods.  Grand Bend Speedway is also reaching out to other divisions and organizations that may want to participate on the unique track.

Additional details for the event will be released during the lead up to the event including the possibility of tailgate parking, details for fans attending, and more information for drivers.
