The 2023 season kicked off Saturday evening at Grand Bend Speedway with an all-new features only format.

Mason Collver (#20) of Strahroy won both of the Mini Truck feature races.  In the first feature race, rookie driver Quinn Goertz made a statement with a second-place finish.  Caleb Goertz (#19) of Ilderton finished third.  In the second race Caleb Goertz (#19) improved his finish by moving up to second while Kaisha Zimoch (#15) of Mt. Brydges took third-place on the podium.

In the late models, the first feature was won by Gord Bennett (#67) of Grand Bend while the second race saw Jeremy Curtis (#77) of Durham take the win.

In development competition, Collin Klumper (#11) of Michell controlled the Junior Sprints with a pair of victories.  Judah Buesink (#22) of Strathroy did likewise in the Junior Late Models while fending off Grayson Masson (#9) of Ingersoll.

Following the races, the Landshark Stage debuted with the Creekie Beaver Boys playing into the night.

The next race at Grand Bend Speedway & Festival Centre is next Saturday, June 3.  In competition will be the Late Models, Mini Stocks, and Bone Stocks as well as development competition from the 9 HP Sprints and Junior Late Models.  There will also be a King of the Hill Spectator’s Race where fans can take their street-legal, street-driven vehicles onto the track for one-on-one two-lap races around the track.
