Cobra Tire Cup Driver Info

About the Series

The Cobra Tire Cup is a new 5 Race Series at Grand Bend Speedway with races on the traditional 1/4-mile track and a season finale on the newly created 1-mile Grand Bend Super Speedway course setup next door on the motorplex property.

Four divisions will be eligible to compete the Cobra Cup Series Championship:

  • NASCAR Late Model
  • NASCAR Hot Rod
  • NASCAR Superstock/Sportsman
  • Invitational Bone Stock

The rules for each class are designed to accommodate as many vehicle types as possible through their home-track rules to make the transition to the Cobra Tire Cup Series cost effective for teams.

Tires That Last

  • The series showcases the new Premium Cobra Racing Tires in the Late Model, Hot Rod, and Super Stock / Sportsman classes (Bone Stock drivers use their home-track tires)
  • Cobra Tire Cup drivers should be able to compete in all 5 races competitively on a single set of tires if they wish.
  • The tires are expected to be just as competitive in each race as if they were on put on new!
  • In the past, drivers in the Late Model division have been able to compete for the win with over 1,000 laps on their tires.
  • All cars (except for Invitational Bone Stock) MUST utilize the cost effective and competive Cobra Tires to participate in the Series.

Payouts & Incentives

  • In addition to the highly competitive weekly payouts at each event, drivers who run all-five events receive a “Double Down Loyalty Bonus” of their event payout at the end of the season.
  • For example, if a driver were to earn $1,500 in payouts in total at the five events on the Cobra Tires Cup schedule, they would then receive a doubling bonus of another $1,500 to bring their total event payouts to $3,000 once they run their fifth and final event.
  • Drivers also participate in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series points championship which pays $3,500 USD (Est. $5,000 CAD) for the Late Model Champion, $1,000 (Est. $1,400 CAD) for the Hot Rod Champion, and $700 (Est. $1,000 CAD) for the Super Stock / Sportsman champion.
  • On a per-event basis, driver payouts are highly competitive with Late Models paying $800 to win with heats and one 35 lap feature race, Hot Rods and Super Stock / Sportsman paying $500 to win each split across two 25-lap feature races. Invitational Bone Stocks pay $225 to win with heats and a 25-lap feature race.
